BMR housing, also known as inclusionary housing refers to units in market rate buildings that are required by local municipalities to be rented to low-income tenants at below market rents. When market rate property management companies lack the interest or experience in managing such tenancies, HIP Housing can help.

HIP Housing Affordable Ventures (HHAV) is the nonprofit property management division of HIP Housing, specializing in affordable housing. In addition to managing the HIP Housing portfolio and those of 3rd party partners, HHAV also offers a unique compliance program designed to help owners and municipalities maintain the integrity of their inclusionary housing units.

HIP Housing has been working in San Mateo County since 1972 and enjoys a strong reputation with both government agencies and the affordable housing community. As a nonprofit, we pride ourselves on managing the myriad of inclusionary housing requirements at a reasonable cost.
