About the Calendar Project

Filled with local children’s artwork and information about HIP Housing, since 2001 our annual calendars bring warmth to thousands of homes, and educates the community about HIP Housing’s affordable housing programs.

3000+ calendars are printed and distributed throughout the community annually! The project is made possible by local sponsors. The artwork used in the calendar are selected from HIP Housing’s Calendar Contest.

Each year we receive hundreds of entries from children in kindergarten to 5th grade in San Mateo County. Children draw a picture of a home and writes a quote about “what home means to me.” The calendar has become a community favorite!

HIP Housing’s 2025 Calendar Contest is NOW CLOSED! Winners to be announced soon!

A special thank you to the San Mateo County Library system, Sam Mateo City Library, and Burlingame Public Library for hosting our first ever Calendar Art Display this Spring! The display celebrated winning artists featured in our 2024 calendar! Last year we received over 320 fabulous submissions and have received over 500 entries this year! Your support helps to make this project possible!
