The County of San Mateo cites the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the County at $2,136 a month, putting it out of reach for most teachers, home health aides, bank tellers, and so many other hardworking people in this County.  Minimum wage earners would have to work over 200 hours per week to afford this rent!
