HIP Housing’s Executive Director Receives 2020 Business Woman of the Year Award
July 2021
HIP Housing’s Executive Director, Kate Comfort Harr, recently received the “2020 Business Woman of the Year Award” from Chamber San Mateo County. Comfort Harr earned this award as a result of her leadership of HIP Housing in 2020, which had an extraordinary impact in San Mateo County during an unprecedented time.
Under Comfort Harr’s guidance in 2020, not only did HIP Housing successfully complete its Redwood Oaks property rehabilitation project, but we also partnered with Greystar Real Estate Partners on an affordable housing component of their South Main mixed-use project in Redwood City, which is scheduled for completion in 2023. HIP Housing also worked with Premia Capital to apply their commercial impact fee to the acquisition of a 10-unit property on Rolison Road. HIP Housing is equally proud to have raised over $250,000 for direct relief for clients and tenants struggling due to the pandemic.
“It feels amazing to be recognized in an extraordinary year like 2020 and to be in the company of so many other great local leaders who have been recognized before me. I am truly humbled and honored by this award,” said Comfort Harr.
